What’s the difference between a full share and small share?
A full share generally includes 8-12 items each week while small shares generally include 6-8 items.
There’s usually a lot of overlap, though full shares always have more diversity with several additional items.
Do I get to choose what goes into my CSA share each week?
We pre-pack our CSA shares each week, so you don’t get to choose which items you want each week.
Each week’s newsletter includes our best guess of what to expect the following week.
Our happiest CSA members welcome this dynamic. They appreciate NOT having to make choices on the spot or stress about getting to pickup before all the good choices are gone.
This format also helps keep our food-waste at a minimum week to week.
Can I make substitutions if I have a food allergy?
Our CSA shares are all harvested and packed as uniformly as we can. Unfortunately, we don’t offer substitutions of any kind.
Please reference the images of last year’s shares to see how likely and how often our shares conflict with your allergies and take that into consideration before joining.
Can I split a full or small share with another party (friend, sister, neighbor, co-worker etc.)?
Of course! Some members have success with this. Whether is alternating pickup weeks with each, coming together and dividing your share as you unpack it or meeting up afterward to split it up.
We just ask that the complete share is picked up at once. That means don’t show up to claim your portion and leave the rest for the other party.
Do all the vegetables get wrapped in plastic?
Your weekly share of vegetables will come packed loosely in a reusable bin. You empty the bin into your own bags/boxes/coolers etc. and leave the bin at pickup. The only packaging we use are rubber bands which you can return for reuse. No plastic bags. No paper cartons. Just veggies.
What happens if I forget to pick up my share one week?
Please set a recurring reminder on your phone (and don’t ignore it) so we can all avoid this issue.
If you are not going to be able to make it to pick up your share, it is best to have a friend or relative pick up for you.
With all that’s happening on the farm, we aren’t able to accommodate pickups outside of our stated hours. Unclaimed shares will be forfeited.
If you know are running a little late for your pickup, feel free to email or call to let us know.
